When the Danes drew up plans for Charlotte Amalie they didn’t take into consideration that the island was hilly - to make up for this the downtown area is scattered with staircases! Perhaps the most well know is the 99 Steps! Take a walk to the top and take in the view of the harbor. On your way back down stroll past Governor’s house and into Veteran’s Park before heading back to town!

Beaches
At just 12 minutes away - Brewer's Bay is the closest sandy beach to the property!
It's a great spot with calm waters and easy access with both ramps and stairs leading from the road to the sand. There is plenty of free parking on the road - just follow the lead of the cars already there!
While the snorkeling is limited by the sandy bottom it is a great beach to spot sea turtles! In fact you don't even need to get wet - just keep an eye out for their heads when they come up for a breath of air!
While there aren't many amenities there are two food trucks and public restrooms. Grab our provided beach chairs and cooler and settle in for a great day!

They also have kayak, SUP and other water sport rentals. If walking to the bar feels like too much effort keep an eye out for the beach waiters and they'll bring icy drinks right to you!
If you want a quieter experience head either left or right of the entrance and find your perfect stretch of sand!
Magen's Bay charges an entrance fee of $4 per person and an additional $2 for parking but it's well worth it when you see all this beautiful beach has to offer!
