Due to it being a turtle nesting location, Sandy Point is only open seasonally and on the weekends. But if you’re here while it’s open, it’s a must see! Park in the last lot and bring the canopy or sunscreen; this beach doesn’t have much shade…but it has gorgeous water!

Remember your greetings! 👋🏼
It is extremely important to acknowledge people on St. Croix, especially before asking a question. Saying ‘good morning’, ‘good afternoon’, and ‘good night’ (yes, good night as a greeting anytime after sunset until midnight!) will get you far!

🚗 Honking as a form of communication, not aggression.
Honking is typically used more as a way to communicate, not so much out of aggression. If someone honks once, it usually indicates ‘go ahead’ and allowing a car to pull out in front. And to say ‘thank you’, you just tap the horn twice back!
Getting around

We don’t have ride sharing options on island. Taxi vans are available, but you’ll need a personal number of a driver (unless you’re coming from the airport, in which case they are found just past baggage claim). We have public transit, however it is not like a typical city. I have never taken it, and only had one guest do it once, and they said never again. You can walk to things around Christiansted town, but it’s recommended you rent a car if you wish to explore the island!
