Newhaven Fort is a popular local landmark with loads to learn and see of Newhaven’s history.
Not to mention the coastal views..they’re magnificent!
Tide Mills is one of my fave places to walk Dee Dee or go for a bike ride.
Steeped in history, this now nature reserve was once the village of Tide Mills. There are ruins of the old houses and even old railway tracks on the seafront.
It’s really simple to get to and links Newhaven to Seaford so makes for a great day out.

Tide Mills is one of my fave places to walk Dee Dee or go for a bike ride.
Steeped in history, this now nature reserve was once the village of Tide Mills. There are ruins of the old houses and even old railway tracks on the seafront.
It’s really simple to get to and links Newhaven to Seaford so makes for a great day out.
Newhaven West Beach is the closest beach to The Proud Mary. It’s about a 25 minute stroll or a quick drive. There’s a little collection of food shacks serving breakfast, burgers, seafood and ice cream.
Sometimes there’s a car boot sale there too. Parking is £5 I think. I’ll check next time I’m up there.
It’s also very close to a pub called The Hope Inn and that serves food and local ales etc. You can watch the ferry come in and out from there too!
