Visit a coffeeshop. A friend of us runs the 420 Café, a great coffeeshop, where there are mostly tourists, good weed and a great ambiance. And off course in the case that you don’t smoke, the coffee is great to!

Market place

Go see the Albert Cuijp market. This market is a real Amsterdam market place with enough to see and to buy. In the area you can have a drink or a bite to eat. And if you are interested in the ‘’blond amsterdam’’ crockery, like what used in our home, the store is just behind the market.

City advice

Getting around

Some apps to make travel easy!

Maps.me; This is a route app, where you can download the cards of a country when you are on WIFI. It does give route descriptions, even when you are offline, by using your GPS. So your roaming costs will be a lot lower. 9292.ov; this is the planner of the public transportation in Amsterdam. You can easily put in an start and end and plan your trip. Uber; the Uber-taxi app. Costs of taking a cab in Amsterdam are pretty high. With Uber it’s cheaper, and you don’t have to use cash to pay.
Getting around

Renting a bike

Then you have that other thing we Dutchies love to do, ride a bike. There are a lot of places in Amsterdam where you can rend a bike. They are easy to use, you don’t have to keep track of time and are totally in control. Just keep in mind, that you are using the public roads, so don’t get to distracted by our beautiful city.
Getting around

An app you can't go without!

Because we live on the other side of the IJ, a canal that splits the North from the rest from Amsterdam you need the 'Pontveer' app. On this app you can see the times of the arrival and departure of the ferry's that will take you across the IJ!
