I lived in this place when I moved here. You can have a drink, a cocktail, brunch, lunch and dinner. They cater to everyone here - from steak eating to vegans. Food can be hit or miss. But, it's a steady regular. The Bloody Marys are GREAT!! https://thebungo.co.uk

It's round the corner. It describes itself "Down-to-earth restaurant & bar providing generous burgers with french fries, plus nachos." That's exactly right. Glass of wine, chicken burger and fries is my go to. It's a relaxed place for getting a bit of grub and a drink. Staff are super friendly, tattooed & pierced!!! https://www.stagandthistleglasgow.com 778 Pollokshaws Road Monday - Friday 12 - 10pm / Saturday & Sunday 12 - 11pm

Also known as St Mungo's Cathedral, it's the oldest cathedral in mainland Scotland, and also the oldest building in Glasgow. St Mungo is the Patron Saint of Glasgow. You feel all this oldness and history in this place. There is magic here. When you're done cross over the footbridge to The Northern Necropolis.

Glasgow didn't have a distillery for 100 years. If you haven't managed to get to a distillery further away, go to this one. Single-malt whisky, anyone? Why wouldn't you want to do a whisky tasting? More info here: https://www.theclydeside.com

Get out of Glasgow for a walk on the beach. From Glasgow Central Train Station, it takes about 50 minutes to get to the Troon Beach. The walk down to Prestwick Beach takes about an hour and a half. Then get on the train at Prestwick which returns to Glasgow via Troon. Enjoy fresh sea air and view across to Arran.

My place for wine. Anthony and the boys (good band name!) know their wine. They are lovely. They sell other drink too. If you drink there, they also do charcuterie and cheese boards, and nibbles. But you can also buy stuff to take away. It's not the cheapest place but it is the bestest place. I love it. I love it. It's a Southside institution. You will find grannies, old men, queers, and young trendies and everyone in-between here. All are welcome. There's a jukebox with every type of music. Whatever your tipple - they have more gins, whiskies and beers/ales/ciders than you could imagine. It is not big. It is rough and smooth and wonderful. When it's time to go. You leave. https://www.facebook.com/TheAllisonArmsPub/ Tuesday - Saturday 11am - midnight Monday & Sunday 12.30 - midnight
