Customs and culture

All shops are closed on Sundays!

Austria holds on to the Catholic ideal of not working on Sunday. You will find that only cafés, restaurants, (some) museums, bakeries and flower shops are open on Sundays.
Useful phrases

Mahlzeit!

This is Austrian (read: *not* German ;)) for 'bon appétit!'. It literally means 'mealtime!'.
