This place (and the original location in the cultural district) are amazing. Their food is delicious and as much "farm to table" as possible. The service is exemplary and their wine selection is over the top. Plus, it's only a 10 minute walk from our place (across from Strathcona Park).

They've been around for ages and their pub fare is always delicious and served with a smile. Amazing brunch and family-friendly.

It has some amazing views of the valley and some waterfalls from the hiking trails. If you're feeling really adventurous, later in the season you can actually hike up the creek to a couple of them. Also, the other side of the park has beach access.

The park has an awesome playground for kiddos and beautiful hiking trails that lead to a turtle pond and a kid's fishing pond. The park also attaches to the Mission Creek Greenway - a 16.5 kilometre biking and walking trail that follows Mission Creek from the lake to KLO creek. The 1st part of the trail is wide and flat and the 2nd part (after Mission Creek Park) is narrower and can be steep in parts.

The park has an awesome playground for kiddos and beautiful hiking trails that lead to a turtle pond and a kid's fishing pond. The park also attaches to the Mission Creek Greenway - a 16.5 kilometre biking and walking trail that follows Mission Creek from the lake to KLO creek. The 1st part of the trail is wide and flat and the 2nd part (after Mission Creek Park) is narrower and can be steep in parts.
It's super close to the house (about a 10 minute walk) and has lots of shade and grass, as well as a lovely beach. There's also a small playground for the kiddos. Washrooms are open from April to October.

The City has just opened this up as a trial off-leash dog beach. We've been a few times now and it's been awesome. I would say your dog needs to be fairly well-trained and a good listener to swim here though as there are spots where escape is possible. Haha.
