Sometimes we are hungry after all of the restaurants close and this is our go to spot. Lots of funky items on their menu but also classics like cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches Food + Beer closes at 2am and has an arcade bar at the restaurant.

Munchies has been on Food & Network a few times for their Ghost Wing challenge but has lot of outrageous items that keep their menu *different*. The nice thing about Munchies is that they close at 4:20am so you will never go hungry.

Oscar Scherer is a 1,400 acre state park 10 minutes away from the Bungalow. It offers several hiking trails, a lake to swim in, information center and has access to creeks to launch kayaks.
There are lots of native animals to see in the area and if you are lucky you may even spot the endangered Florida Scrub Jay.

Oscar Scherer State ParkOscar Scherer is a 1,400 acre state park 10 minutes away from the Bungalow. It offers several hiking trails, a lake to swim in, information center and has access to creeks to launch kayaks.

Nokomis beach is the closest beach to the Bungalow and has crystal clear waters. If you look at the sand long enough you will have a good shark teeth collection by the end of your stay.
Drive slow on beach roads because many tortoise may cross your path. This beach is also a great spot to fish.

Siesta Key is always in the top 10 beaches every year and even got the number one spot a few years back. Known for its powdery white quartz sand and blue shallow waters it has lots to offer. Siesta Key has lots of restaurants, bars, shopping and a variety of rentals (boats, scooters, bikes, etc.)

The only natural warm spring in Florida that stays 85 degrees year round. With one of the highest mineral contents of all the warm springs in the US many people come here for healing qualities, either way it is cool spot to check out.

The Legacy trail is a 2 minute bike ride or 5 minute walk from the bungalow. Take the bikes provided for as long as you can pedal to check out the area. We think we live on the best stretch of the trail. The stretch south of us is mostly along the water and the stretch north of us takes you through Oscar Scherer State Park.
A short walk both north and south with take you to a bridge to overview the bay.

Legacy TrailThe Legacy trail is a 2 minute bike ride or 5 minute walk from the bungalow. Take the bikes provided for as long as you can pedal to check out the area. We think we live on the best stretch of the trail. The stretch south of us is mostly along the water and the stretch north of us takes you through Oscar Scherer State Park.
A short walk both north and south with take you to a bridge to overview the bay.
The Ringling Museum is beautiful and is a huge part of this areas history. If you are a Florida resident and are in town on a Monday admission is free!
