This is a beautiful but dangerous water fall. Go to visit and only swim at the bottom. Approach from the Jamaica State Park for a nice long hike along the river and up to the falls. It is about a 7 mile round trip hike.

I know that we are biased but this is one of the most beautiful state parks I have ever seen. Walk or bike along the river, take the overlook trail, go to Hamilton Falls, or swim in the river.

This is a great, short day hike to a bald topped mountain with a view. It is about 15-20 minutes away from the Chick Inn by car to the trail head.

This is a beautiful river for swimming. Check out the covered Scott Bridge in Townshend, just downstream of the dam. There is a swimming hole beneath.

This is a really pretty lake for swimming or boating. There are several islands to go to where the swimming is deeper and there is a nice rock. You can rent kayaks at Equipe Sports. Go in spring to see the blooming pitcher plants.

This is one of my favorite ponds for kayaking. It goes on for ever and there is so much interesting wildlife. There are also trails around the outside and little rocky points from which to swim. Choose wisely because there is milfoil in some parts. This is a great place for bird spotting, not to mention beavers and other animals.

Choose wisely because there is milfoil in some parts. This is a great place for bird spotting, not to mention beavers and other animals.
This is a lovely remote pond for swimming, hiking, or kayaking. The azaleas in June are beautiful. Bring bug repellant.

This is a GREAT place for easy biking along the rail trails. Swim in the river or access the more rugged West River trail and find your way to Angel Falls for a longer day trip. Day use costs $4 per person.
