This can be found at the end of Northampton park (turn right out of the end of our road Northampton Grove). Cross the road and go through the gate. The walk can go all the way to the Costa Coffee in Angel. There are parts where the walk seems to end but you have to cross the road and go back into it. Absolutely beautifully planted the whole way, a peaceful oasis that takes you right out of the city. Particularly stunning in autumn when the leaves all change colour and again in spring with all the blossom. It was an old viaduct that has been transformed into a gorgeous walk way of approximately 20minutes and features a lot of wildlife like ducks and moorhens, even sometimes a tortoise or two! If you start the walk in Angel, you can connect it to the greenways from past canonbury station going towards stoke newington's clissold park.

Camden passage is quite a cute shopping area tucked away from the main streets in Angel. It has an almost undisturbed Victorian architecture and feels very Dickinson, like your in the world of Oliver Twist. It features lots of antique shops and sometimes antique market stalls. Redempton Roasters found at the angel end of the passage make the best coffee round here. Paul A Young the famous chocolatire has a chocolate shop here and there are a number of great cafe's and restaurants. Lots of good (not tacky) shops for gifts here too

A much-loved 55-acre Victorian park in north-west Stoke Newington, there is a large water course through the middle, in front of Clissold House , which hosts a cafe and is popular for weddings in the summer. There is also a number of animals to see deer / goats even an aviary full of birds.

A leafy green space with a sunken basket ball court in the middle and a kids play park at the end. If you fancy taking betty for one of her painfully slow walks this is the place to go. It is about 30second walk from the house (without Betty!). There's an entrance half way up st.pauls road and about 1/4 way up northampton park A nice shady place to go and sit and read a book on a hot day.

A few doors up from the Alma is Oi Vita Pizza. One of the Best Pizza places in London hands down. Very authentically italian with high quality toppings and cooked in proper stone oven. It can get very busy particularly on sunny evenings. But you can also get takeaway. Highly Highly recommended

Found opposite the green in the area with the iron raised flower beds. Here is a good place for a good quality and affordable brunch or lunch. There is an extensive but not particularly adventurous menu. Friendly and helpful staff.

It is the little hut found on the entrance to the green. The hot sandwiches and toasties are pretty good. I love their B.L.A.T. (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato) or their fish finger sandwich.  They have little tables on the decking area or its nice to sit on the green on a good day. Their vegan cakes are also good.

On Newington Green, on the opposite side to Yield. Its a small plates restaurant & bakery. They make all their bread (which you can buy to take away along with amazing pastries) and pasta from ancient and unaltered grains and everything is made from sustainable sources using responsible farming practices. The bakery side is open from the morning until about 3pm then onwards its a restaurant serving good (albeit a bit pricey £££) pasta dishes. They also do very good coffee, the best in the area by far. I think the whole place is closed on Mondays. Don't leave London without trying their white sourdough bread!

Further up towards the Green, past the Veg shop. It’s a wine shop and bar selling delicious natural, organic and BioDynamic wines, if that’s your thing! You can try a selection of wines by the glass as well as buying bottles. It also stocks posh cheeses & dehli meats as well as other store cupboard item. Nice for foodie gifts

A bit of a nightmare to find. Its hidden at the end of an alleyway in Dalston between MacDonalds and a Mexican restaurant. This is a tin-shack hipster paradise, sourdough bread is their speciality but they also do an impressive pastry. In the summer you can get a table outside in the shack-like diner and get very tasty sandwiches, salads and wood-fired pizza's Get there early to grab yourself one of their semi-famous sandwiches which they load onto a milk float and send around london. Open hours: Monday 8am-1pm for bread/pastry/coffee only. Tuesday-Sunday 8am - 3.30pm, serving breakfast & lunch too!

Independent Multiple Award-Winning but very small Garden Centre about a 10-15 min walk from the house. They have a larger collection of indoor plants than outdoor. They are quite expensive but worth the short walk to stare at the pretty foliage. They also have a decent selection of indoor plant pots. Stop after for a pint in the beer garden at the Scolt Head opposite

Gorgeous independent cinema with a lush interior with only one screen. You can even book a double sofa seat or more standard cinema seats. There is a bar that serves beer, cocktails and posh snacks. Very nice movie going experience. They often show old movies one night a week too. Worth the little bit extra £ for your cinema ticket.

Right at the end of the road! you can actually access it through the blue door in the daytime. The food here is not good, but the buzzing atmosphere makes up for it. It seems to be popular for sports watching. On a Thursday & sometimes Saturday night there’s often an Irish band playing which is usually pretty fun.

A lovely quaint theatre just off upper street. The newer shows they put on here quite often end up getting scaled up and taken on at the National. The cheap seats can also be got away with because of the small size of the theatre. I've not seen a bad show here

They do a great massage if you need to unwind after your travels. All the practitioners are of a high standard and much better than any of the posh spa massages I have had. Highly recommend by me :-) They will ask you what problem area's you have and then really do a good job of getting rid of any knots etc. They have about 3 small rooms which are super clean and each decorated in a tranquil spa like style. They are located about a 10 minute walk away from the house on Essex Road. My fave is Kaisa but she only works a couple of days per week. Katia-Diana is also excellent but can be a bit 'chatty' but maybe some people like that (i do not).

A great community yoga studio that offers a range of different styles and paced yoga & pilates classes. For beginners up to the more experienced. Its about a 15min walk from my place and on the same road as the Luminary Bakery (also listed in this guide). So I highly recommend stopping by post class for a sweet treat and coffee. You need to bring your own mat since covid-19 happened but they have some for hire at £2 per go. The building is a quirky space and has a small cafe/waiting area and even featured a paid-for workspace should you need it. They have numerous classes throughout the day, the schedule is found online. They have offers for people new to the studio the two classes for £15 might be the best if your stay with me is short. the £35 for a month of unlimited classes is great for stays longer than a week or more.
