Tips for beautiful places that you can visit for free while exploring the city.
Carcavelos Bridge is also known as Valentine's Bridge. Those who take the moliceiro ride, through the canals of Aveiro, will certainly pass under it. The architecture is superb ☀️ In the old days it was used to access the salt marines.

Another one of the bridges that attracts the most curious, since it is already a tradition to leave your wish ❤️ Just bring a coloured ribbon and write your wish to leave on the bridge.

Even seen from the outside this house is undoubtedly a tribute to Art Nouveau, very characteristic in Aveiro 🤗

Here you have a different perspective of the city's canals and watch the coming and going of the Moliceiros ⛵ 🌊 Quite open, with grass and some places in the shade. You'll also find art allusive to ovos moles and a statue alluding to Maria da Fonte, on the water. With a bit of luck you'll see also ducks and seagulls dotting the water. This tongue of the channel culminates at the old ceramics factory.

A beautiful and fun walk to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, with your family or as a couple. It has lots of flora species and you can still see turtles and little fish in the lake. Also look for the aerial bridge which gives you a super different perspective 👌☀️

An instagrammable hop, the Aveiro Train Station is adorned with a set of tile panels from the Fábrica da Fonte Nova (1916), with regional motifs. This is a charming building, full of natural light, which presents an important collection of outdoor tiles in Aveiro.

Getting around

Getting around in Aveiro ⚓🚴🚶

By boat, bike or on foot are two great ways to explore the city. If you like to get to know the city calmly, wander its streets on foot and breathe in its everyday life 😊 But if you prefer to get to know as much as possible within the limited time, opt for BUGAS (free city bikes). You can pick up your bike at the BUGA shop at Manuel Firmino Market and enjoy the ride 🚴😊 You just need an ID document.
