Parks & Nature

A lovely walk to do is to follow the Offas dyke trail down to Brockweir (turn left out of the cottage, go around the corner and you will see a green sign going down a small walking trail - follow these signs until you get to Brockweir). When you arrive at Brockweir, cross the bridge and take an immediate left before the big road down some steep steps. Follow the path along the river until you get to Tintern. From Tintern you can cross the footbridge over the river, walk up the hill and you should find a signpost back to Brockweir. It's a lovely circular walk and you can stop for lunch at any one of the lovely pubs along the way. The Rose & Crown and Brockweir Inn are my favourites.

To get to the Hudnalls, take a right out of the cottage up the hill, follow Offas Dyke signposts, which will take you up a small trail and then down back onto the lane. Shortly afterwards turn left off the lane when there is a sign post to Offas dyke. Follow the path for a minute or two and when the path forks, don't follow the Offa's dyke sign, but instead turn left into the woods. Shortly after that you will see a sign welcoming you to the Hudnalls nature reserve. Follow the path down to the river and walk downstream towards Brockweir from there (where you could stop at the Brockweir Inn for a nice pub lunch!). You can follow the Offa's dyke signs uphill back to the cottage.
