Food Scene

I love this place for delicious affordable Ethiopian food and a good selection of craft beers. I'd highly recommend the Yedoro Wat. There's also some great vegetarian options. The place isn't much to look at, but it's a great casual place nearby for awesome food and drinks.

#2 best burger in the city. It's BYOB, and small. Grab any of their burgers and enjoy. My mouth is literally watering as I write this.

I love this place for it's unique beer brewed on site. They don't bottle it, so this is the only place you'll get to enjoy their unique creations. The food is good. Their burgers are hit or miss, but the beer is what I go for.

Drinks & Nightlife

If you want a unique experience, you have to check out the Trestle. Multiple birthday nights have ended here, I think, or so I've been told ;) Their bartenders are some of the best mixologists in the city. My go-to's are the Black Power Sour and the Classic Whiskey Sour.

Parks & Nature

Fairmount Park is the largest city park in the world. It sprawls throughout the city and contains great public art, hiking, running and biking trails, museums, zoos and more. It's one of a kind. I love going for runs along the river early in the morning.

Eastern State Penitentiary was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells once held many of America's most notorious criminals, including "Slick Willie" Sutton and "Scarface" Al Capone.

City Hall is an underappreciated gem in Philly. Read the Wiki on it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_City_Hall It's amazing, and was going to be demolished at one time. • Largest municipal building in the World • William Penn statue is the tallest atop any building in the world • 250 sculptures created by Alexander Milne Calder adorn the building inside and out

Chestnut Hill is a real cute area of Philadelphia, nicknamed the garden district—about a 30 minute drive from my place. Germantown Ave, the main artery running through the area has a ton of cute shops offering unique finds and great restaurants. I'd recommend McNally's Tavern for their classic Philly sandwich, The Schmitter.
