A great day out. You can take the cable car to the top, or if you like a challenge, it will take around 3-4 hours to walk to the top. Once there you can climb the steps to the summit before enjoying a well earned repas in the restaurant at the cable car exit, or head into le Mont Dore, where you will find a host of eateries to suit all tastes

Only four kilometres away. Especially nice in the high season, as there is a friendly bar/restaurant with terrace that over looks the water.

Whether you want to shop or take in the sights, in my opinion, it is the walk along the river bank that makes it for me. there are numerous cafes, play areas, and dedicated spaces for sunbathing or relaxing
