Food scene
We are longtime pizza lovers (hence the pizza oven in the patio haha) so when we moved here we were on the hunt for a good pizza. Luckily, we didn’t have to look far… right in town (approx 5-10 mins away) is Gina Marie’s pizza.
The lady taking orders has great recommendations and our favorite pizza is the one with chicken and mushrooms on it. We are longtime sausage lovers but this one hits different!

This is the best place to go get breakfast when you don’t feel like cooking in the morning. My favorite thing to get is the country fried steak skillet and my husband loves the omelettes! Their Arnold palmers are also great but it’s not on the menu so ask for a 1/2 iced tea 1/2 lemonade if you want it on the less sweet side.
It is relatively affordable and it has that “homey” feel to us as we visit just about every time we come up :)
Definitely a great place to take your family out
Christos Family Dining
1951 South Heaton StreetThis is the best place to go get breakfast when you don’t feel like cooking in the morning. My favorite thing to get is the country fried steak skillet and my husband loves the omelettes! Their Arnold palmers are also great but it’s not on the menu so ask for a 1/2 iced tea 1/2 lemonade if you want it on the less sweet side.
It is relatively affordable and it has that “homey” feel to us as we visit just about every time we come up :)

If you are planning to grill up some food, I would recommend heading over to Five Star to grab some steaks! Everything seems to be going up but somehow their amazing T Bone cuts seem to stay under $6… definitely worth your $$

If you’ve been to Bass Lake before, you probably know this place as “Sporty Z’s” but in Summer 2021 it came under new management and got a total facelift! The food is amazing and they have a great selection of specialty beers. My husband loves the Peach one !
We also had a chance to meet the new owners who are very welcoming and have great recommendations!
WOODSHED TAP
3498 South County Road 210If you’ve been to Bass Lake before, you probably know this place as “Sporty Z’s” but in Summer 2021 it came under new management and got a total facelift! The food is amazing and they have a great selection of specialty beers. My husband loves the Peach one !
We also had a chance to meet the new owners who are very welcoming and have great recommendations!
Sightseeing
I don’t know how to describe Baileys except that they have everything you never knew you needed at cheap prices. Everyone on the lake we know goes to Baileys religiously and if you like shopping … we definitely recommend giving Baileys a chance.
They always have so many new things from furniture, home appliances, decorations, toys for kids, snacks, etc. Oh and don’t forget to grab a $4 “Bailey’s” Tshirt on your way out !

“Riverside Rentals” is a 20 minute drive from our home, and is a great place to organize a ‘family activity’ with your loved ones. They have tubes and canoes for rent and you can take them for a fun ride down their lazy river !
While we personally haven’t checked this place out yet, we are hoping to soon, as we have heard so many good things ! (Check out their Yelp Page)
