Things to Do & Places to See

This complex houses three Olympic sized skating rinks open year round (two of them are under construction in preparation for the January 2023 FISU Winter University Games). The 1980 Jack Shea arena is still open for spectators and events, and there is a free temporary Olympic Museum + gift shop until the remodeled one is completed.

A very nice artificial-sand public beach with lifeguards, a good sized pier as part of the supervised beach area, and an excellent view of Mirror Lake and the surrounding mountains. The beach has a shower house and restroom/changing facility. The beach area also features a rock with a plaque that marks the official starting spot for the swim portion of the annual Iron Man triathlon. Nearby is a natural beach for launching kayaks and canoes and stand-up paddleboards.

Restaurants

A great place to eat, has outdoor picnic table seating under a large canopy tent (tables are brand new). They have live music often, and a very nice atmosphere. On the menu is lobster, hot dogs, waffle fries, and bbq items. I recommend the Buddy's Big Fish Sandwich.
