Family friendly dining with a lovely view of the great Wanganui river. If you prefer restaurant dining then the dining room upstairs is a must. The quality, taste and presentation of the food is outstanding. They also do amazing breakfasts.

The cafe here is amazing. They have so much delicious food and it really is a struggle to pick a dish. Open from 7.30am for breakfast until 4.00pm.

The elevator takes you up through the hill to the iconic Durie Hill Tower. You can walk to the top where you can take in the magnificent views. On a clear day you can see the South Island, Mt Taranaki and Mt Ruapehu. The elevator operates between 10am and 5pm and costs $2 each way.

This garden is a garden of national significance in NZ. It is gorgeous and well worth the 15-20 minute drive. There are several different gardens and 2 aboretea. Definitely recommend this to visit! Pack a picnic and spend the day wandering the property.

There are various performances culminating in a Gala. The Opera House also hold many visiting acts and shows from around NZ and the world.
