Offering both indoor and outdoor seating and a quaint bar, La Dolce Vita is one of my favorites in Little Italy. Fettuccine Fellini is {I kiss my fingertips here} so yummy. Open for dinner Tuesday-Sunday.

Yep, that's right. Another bakery in Little Italy. There can never be enough cannolis, right? And if you've never had cassata cake, let it be known that both Mario Batali and my mother claim Corbo's is the best, so get in there and try it. You won't regret it. But don't forget the cannoli! Open every day but Monday.

Very reasonable prices and homemade pasta are reasons to choose Mama Santa's when in Little Italy. They're also open on Mondays, which many places are not.

Otherwise known as TOLI, you can't beat this place for local Little Italy vibes. Truth be told, I've only gone here to drink, because check out that little back patio! TOLI is like sports bar meets wine bar meets food but in the best way. The menu is great and Sundays mean brunch from 11-2 and all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs all day for just $8.99. Fortunately they have free parking in the rear as Little Italy can run a little short on parking. Open every day for lunch and dinner service except dinner only on Tuesdays.

A little story about Valerio's if you'll indulge me. After dinner at Guarino's down the street, my family and I were walking to Corbo's for a sweet. As we passed by Valerio's Trattoria, chef and owner Valerio Iorio hailed us to join him and his friends at their tables on the sidewalk. The restaurant was closed but the wine was flowing freely and the cigars were blazing as we enjoyed what truly is the heart of Little Italy on a hot summer night. I tell you this because not many areas that bring in tourists are places where you'll be welcomed with open arms as a stranger. The generous spirit and hospitality of Valerio comes through in his cooking and the experience at Valerio's. Go here for a special night.

There's a good amount of shopping in Little Italy but I'm just gonna put this here: if there's no cigars, it ain't Italian. Seriously, all the smoking rules go out the window in Little Italy when it comes to cigars. Everywhere you go the distinctive smell follows you. So why not poke your head in Mayfield Smoke Shop, pick up a stogie and join the crowd? It's all just part of the experience.
The shop carries an extensive collection of imported, hand-rolled, premium cigars and is open daily, until 10pm on weekends and 8 or 9 during the week.
