A great stop for local ice cream. Don’t miss it! After you finish, take a short walk to the train station and climb the steel bridge over the railroad tracks to a little park with a great view of Staunton from above. Perfect little walk!

I believe this is the biggest antique mall in the US. Be prepared to get lost, but what a great place to get lost. I go here often to search for specific items such as a side table, teapots or an enamel dog bowl. Sometimes I go just to meander up and down endless aisles! Another great spot when the weather is too hot or too cold.

Check out the art and history then stroll behind the building for a tiny public garden hidden in the center of town. You can also check out the visitors’ center across from the RR Smith building, grab a sandwich at Cranberry’s, and sit in the garden making a plan of what to see or do next!

Casual. Former sit down restaurant was destroyed in a flood and they bought a new building to start over again. Take out or eat inside/outside. Food made with care. If you’ve never eaten pupusas, you need to try these!

You’ll need a flashlight for this and perhaps a rain jacket, but not a long hike. Fun to see the old railway tunnel.
