Gold Notting Hill is a neighbourhood restaurant and late night bar in the beating heart of Portobello Road. Inspired by the area’s diverse cultural history and artistic eclecticism, Gold is informal and honest, with a humble menu focussed on generous, seasonal plates cooked in wood ovens and served to share. Eat Tokyo is my recommendation if you’re in the mood for something more relaxed but just as authentic and delicious. After dinner you can find a whole host of great bars and pubs!

Chiltern Firehouse has the most exquisite interiors and I always thoroughly enjoy having drinks on the terrace or in the lounge area; however, I consider the restaurant overpriced. The Harcourt is a Grade II-listed British pub with an added dash of Nordic cool. Chef Henry Harris's meaty menu has plenty of elevated pub classics: whole baked brill with sea kale, lamb rump with smoked aubergine, rabbit with bacon, green beans and mustard sauce. Whilst I wouldn’t normally recommend dining in a department store(!), Selfridges is located nearby and has a wide variety of cafes and restaurants in store to enjoy in between shopping!

A little further afield but Sessions Arts Club, situated in an 18th century Grade II listed building, the collaborative project of chef Florence Knight, artist Jonny Gent, St John co-founder Jon Spiteri and architect Russell Potter is a gorgeous restaurant, wine bar and art gallery. On the fourth floor of a former courthouse, the 80 seat dining room and roof terrace comes complete with a marble bar and infinity rooftop pool dotted with salvage yard finds, green leather banquettes, chandeliers, a piano and plants. The Charterhouse, whilst not a restaurant, is worth visiting for the history as it’s been around since 1348! Founded as a medieval monastery of the Carthusian order, the site became a Tudor mansion, a boys’ school, and an almshouse, which it remains to this day. They provide accommodation for over 40 individuals known as ‘Brothers’ who form part of the community alongside staff, private and commercial tenants, and residents of the Infirmary. Their historic and peaceful 7 acre site is an inspiring location for filming and private events. Please note that currently they can only have visitors who have pre-booked on tours.

South Kensington boasts an unbeatable range of free museums and beautiful open spaces alongside its more upmarket attractions. Museums: the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum. Enjoy a snack between exhibitions at the Natural History Museum cafes, The V&A Cafe and Science Museum cafes, or dine alfresco at the Kensington Gardens Cafe. There's plenty of green space in Kensington – the area's home to two of London's magnificent Royal Parks: Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. When you're in Kensington Gardens, make sure you visit Kensington. It is also where both Queen Victoria and Diana, Princess of Wales lived. Explore the State Apartments, see Queen Victoria's bedroom, look around temporary exhibitions, stroll around the landscaped gardens and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in the Orangery.

Primrose Hill is a compact, villagelike area of grand Victorian terraces and pastel-coloured Regency townhouses. Its namesake hilltop park has panoramic views over Regent’s Park and the city beyond. Upmarket delis, chic eateries, and boutique fashion stores cluster along Regent’s Park Road, and surrounding streets are dotted with gastropubs and tea rooms. The Regent’s Canal towpath leads to nearby Camden Market.

Parsons Green is a mainly residential district in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The Green itself, which is roughly triangular, is bounded on two of its three sides by the New King's Road section of the King's Road and Parsons Green Lane. There are a wide range of little shops, lovely delis, cafes, restaurants and pubs. I love Brooke House, Koji for sushi and Sukho for Thai food.

The energetic streets of Soho, in the West End, feature a variety of dining, nightlife, and shopping options. Dean, Frith, Beak, and Old Compton streets are the epicentre of activity day and night, and long-running Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club is also here. Theatre-goers head to Shaftesbury Avenue, while shoppers bustle around Carnaby, Oxford and Regent streets and the iconic Liberty's department store.

Notting Hill is just as whimsical as the film suggests. It is one of London’s most well known neighborhoods, and a popular destination for tourists. I love ambling down Portobello Road and two of my favourite restaurants are located in the area: Gold & Eat Tokyo.
