Fascinating glimpse into Irish History in an architecturally stunning building. It's a short walk from the house.

I find the Guinness experience a little boring to be quite honest, but the view from the bar at the end is great and unrivalled. Do the tour quickly and then head up for your free pint!

Drinks & Nightlife

This is one of my favourite pubs in Dublin - it's tiny, full of locals, close to IMMA and the Guinness alays tastes good. Great in summer for outside pints or winter by the fire.

This is my favourite bar in Dublin. It'll (hopefully) be obvious why when you go.

This quiet bar, on the 2nd floor of a weirdly old/odd/aul fella hotel is quaint in all the best ways. Decent wifi too. Basically it looks like a classy library, but with Guinness.

Arts & Culture

It might not have a world-class collection, but it's a stunning location for a modern art museum and its focus on Irish & European artists ensures there are some wonderful pieces always on show.

Food Scene

Run by the wonderfully charming Ray (a friend of mine) this place serves great food all day. The cakes are the main reason for stopping by. It's a walk, but it's worth it.

Hands down one of the best coffee places in Dublin. I fully admit to being a coffee snob after living in Melbourne, so take it from me - this place is tough to beat.

One of my favourite spots in Dublin. This place is always packed with good reason - great food, atmosphere, staff and ethos. The people who own it are lovely, young and genuine food lovers. Don't miss

Great cocktails, really good food, occasional Bono in the back. I rarely go here but always enjoy it when I remember it.

Everything Else

A great new distillery in the same neighbourhood at Guinness. If you're a whiskey fan, this is a must-visit spot. It's also just really cool.
