This famous landmark was used by the Phoenicians to navigate from the island of Gibraltar.There is a visitors centre near the base, in the port, and you can walk up to the top. Not for the faint hearted. The two beaches of Calpe are either side of it.

If you like bird spotting and wildlife, this natural salt lake is a must see. The Flamingos live here and are a wonderful view.

Paella by the sea! Is their speciality but have a menu as well. Nestling under the trees with twinkling lights and the sea rolling in. They have live music nights which are good.
Its a nice spot to slip your rock shoes on and have a swim before a tostada and a coffee and juice for breakfast! Hangover cure!

It is towards Guadalest, so maybe combine the two, and worth the hour and a half drive.
You will not get closer to the animals than here!, My son and his best friend aged 8 were chased away by a mummy giraffe when her baby came to sniff the boys! Its all open wilderness.

This is where you kick off your shoes and have a singalong and dance!! Pub foods a bit basic, but people come here for the atmosphere! Staff are very attentive and you will have a laugh here, I promise! ( Do not try the Chinese next door, upstairs !)

Quiet, lovely high end restaurant, has a lovely setting in gardens with a pool. The marina is no longer used but it does have a beach and a coastal walk back into calpe.

Less than 15 minutes away, you can hire all water sports equipment here, canoes, paddle boards, catamarans etc. There are two bars on the rocks that you must have a G&T on, watch out for a rogue wave…. Kids love the rock pools.

Ski trails and sledding areas with a patio for dining and sunbathing! Magic carpet for kids whilst you watch them on a lesson. 1.5 hours drive, stay in a local hostalry and immerse yourself in the Spanish vibe. Very honest and great fun for the kids.
