Head to Wytham and look for White Hart. Great pub and a little road behind it on the right leads up to Wytham Woods. Great walks.

I'm mentioning this place as it's near the house. You need change for the carpark exit gate so ensure you have at least £3 coins on you. (as I can't recall how much) It has a dilapidated cafe and a nice long walk around the reservoir if you like large expanses of water and want to go for a run or a walk it's good for that.

Shopping

It has everything you need. But I would encourage you to visit the high street shops that suffer slightly due to the increase of traffic to the shopping centre away from the town.
