A local cheap & cheerful Italian restaurant where you can bring your own wine and they don't charge corkage. Just a 20 minute walk from the house. You can pop in to SuperValu on Sundrive rd for the wine first :)

One of our favourite spots for dinner. Serves great modern Asian cuisine, excellent cocktails and wine and great music. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. Open late and there's karaoke downstairs!

Great Korea restaurant on one side, bar on the other. The pajeon (green onion pancakes) and the bibimbap are really good! Very good value. On the other side of town, but if you're in the area it's worth a visit.

The Café-Bar in the IFI in Temple Bar is a great spot in town for really good food (lunch or dinner) that isn't crazy expensive like a lot of restaurants in town. The atmosphere is also nice. The architects Maeve works for also designed the building :)

Really lovely bar in two converted Georgian townhouses. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. Lots of different areas, all cosy and well decorated, such as the conservatory, garden, front parlour or library.

Look out for the large wooden snail hanging above the door and then walk up the stairs to what feels like a loft house party. Funky modern bar, really bright, good tunes, comfy couches, great outdoor patio for smokers.

Our local - a nice old traditional Irish pub. Great for a quiet pint or a bite to eat - they serve standard pub grub that doesn't break the bank. Rumour has it they host trad music sessions as well but we haven't confirmed which nights yet.
