Among the largest and most complex of Iron Age hillforts in Europe, Maiden Castle is within easy walking distance but also has free parking. A lovely place to explore and blow away the cobwebs!

Weymouth with it's beaches and many other seaside attractions is a 15 minute drive away. You can chose to enjoy the busy sandy beach near the town or the quieter pebbled stretch just to the east.

This is our nearest pub - a pleasant 15 minute stroll away. We have yet to eat there so cannot personally recommend it but it always seems busy when we pop in for a drink.

This is our favourite local pub in the nearby pretty village of Stratton (4 miles by car). Excellent menu with lots of daily changing specials and reasonably priced.
