Charming, quiet little harbour that's hardly changed at all for decades. The Gun pub, sailing clubs, nature reserve, birdwatching, walks along the sea wall to Lymington and along the shingle bank to Hurst Castle. Ferry boat trips to historic Hurst Castle marking the entrance to the Solent. Views of the Isle of Wight and the Needles lighthouse. Possible to walk to Keyhaven across the fields from Efford Mill.

A little bit further away, but a great traditional country pub and restaurant located in the New Forest National Park. A warm welcome, delicious food and locally brewed ales. Bought in 1990 by John Illsley, bass guitarist of Dire Straits, in order to preserve it for the local community, the East End Arms has managed to retain its loyal local following while also drawing in visitors from outside the area, attracted by the authentically good food and relaxed atmosphere.
