Drinks & Nightlife

Civil and naval is one of my absolute favourite spots. Offering an excellent selection of wine, craft beers and personalised cocktails. The menu is tapas style and includes a number of dishes we love and our previous guests have rated as some of the best they have experienced in NZ. The seasonal greens are a staple in my life and you really must try the macaroni cheese; (I fear they may no longer be on the menu) but the brown butter prawns were so good, we know people who adored them, even though they are allergic to shellfish.

Parks & Nature

This is the historic walking track, the early settlers of Christchurch took when moving from the port, up and over the hills, down into christchurch. It takes about 40 minutes to the top and summits along the road from the gondola. From the top you can walk back the way you came, catch the gondola down and bus back to Lyttelton, or walk one of the other (steeper) tracks back down into Lyttelton.
