Brake Pad has a small but descent patio area for dining out when the weather is good. It's got your basic stuff... burgers, tacos, salads, sandwiches, and beer.

Lunch on Main is a good place to go for some "southern home cookin'". I recommend coming here only for lunch. They are quick, cheap, and the portions are GRAND! You'll swear your Granny is back there cooking. Going for dinner is a bust. They add table cloths, serve food on ceramic plates, and charge you double for smaller portions.

Sightseeing

I love it here. I go several times a year and try to schedule a field trip here each year for my students on my birthday... work and play. It's free with free parking on site and there is lots to learn and explore. Go early to make certain you get one of the limited amount of tickets given each day to tour the Birth Home. Afterwards, walk to Jake's Ice Cream at Irwin Street Market.

Parks & Nature

Stone Mountain is GREAT. It's a bit touristy with lots to see and do for families. Want to avoid touristy? You can do that, too. Walk up to the top and pack a picnic and eat it near the Grist Mill or the Carillon-look up the current schedule. Currently, concerts are at 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00 PM on Sundays and at 12:00 PM & 4:00 PM, Monday-Saturday. Concerts are live on Saturday and Sunday and are taped, Monday through Friday.
