Pretty basic food here, but we like it because it is in the park. Kids like it for simple hot dog and fries, or grilled cheese sandiches. It's also known for it's breakfast menu with bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc. It is convenient before or after a walk in the park. Especially nice when you can sit outside.

Drinks & Nightlife

Live music every night. Starts early - best to go by to check, but often music acts begin at 5:30 for Happy Hour! It's a small place, with plenty of seating. Great place for a drink while listening to live music. Nice place - has a calmer, lounge feel. (although that could change depending on style of music - but often it's solo singers with a pianist or just 1-2 accompanying musicians.)

Shopping

Must go - great place to explore. It is a bit expensive but product is high-quality. Great place if you don't mind the hustle and bustle of a dynamic market. Very busy (too busy) on Saturdays.

Parks & Nature

Nice place to walk around. Not really a "hiking trail" but it's a good 30min walk from the house, you'll be surrounded by nature and see other people who are all enjoying being outdoors.

Great place to go if you want to get away from the city. You must take a ferry from downtown. Once on the island you can either walk or rent bicycles. There are 1-2 restaurants/cafes (nothing fancy), a few beaches, an amusement park for kids and many festivals in the summer. Great place to go on a sunny day. (not ideal on a windy day)

Essentials

This is a great grocery store, convenient because only steps away from Dundas West subway. There is another grocery store closer to the house as well (Loblaws).

A nice area to go for a meal/drinks and walk around in the tiny streets. Window-shopping (or real shopping but can sometimes by pricey). It's very busy on weekends = feels like the place to be. Quite quiet during the week but that's nice too. Architecture is completely different from other neighbourhoods in Toronto.
