This is one of my favorite hikes because of the stunning views along the way and when you reach the top you get a breathtaking view of the 3 Shastas (Shasta Dam, Shasta Lake & Mt. Shasta).

The Sacramento River Trail has lots of miles of trails through the city and along the river that are great for walking, running, biking, hiking etc. There are trailheads at many locations.

Lema Ranch is a beautiful place to go for a walk or a run. Views of rolling hills and Mt. Shasta...and if you are lucky the cows are still there roaming and eating grass.

Fantastic coffee! Locally roasted. Great working, writing space with lots of light. (Yes, this is also a church, but they have a coffee shop and it is one of the best on the scene in Redding. And, yes, Redding actually has GOOD coffee.)
They offer food during the week, which often includes gluten free and paleo treats including donuts. Serve limited dinner menu on Friday nights from 5:30-10pm. Often feature live local musicians on Friday. Most Saturdays they offer a unique breakfast menu. Great food on the weekend.

My favorite drink here is called "Holy Honey Latte." Made with local honey, almond milk and I have them through in an extra shot because I like to be able to taste the espresso over the milk. Seriously...the best specialty drink...and I normally just drink black coffee or an Americano.

One of my favorite places to go for breakfast. If you arrive and there is a wait to get a table, don't worry put your name on the list and go to the attached coffee shop and grab a delicious cup of joe.
