City advice

Getting around

Metro is great and logical- just watch out for pickpockets!

Find a nearest metro station- be guided by google maps- and take advantage of the modern and affordable mean of transportation. Only thing to watch out- keep your personal belongings safe- sometimes pickpockets are active.
Ways to save

Saving advice

As you are staying in self service apartment that has access to fully equipped kitchen- take best of it by shopping in supermarket and cooking your own meals. You can find fresh veggies and fruits, even meats in supermarket (check guidebook) , always after using the kitchen- please clean up after yourself. In Greece tap water is good quality and drinkable- you dont need to buy water bottles as its also bad for environment. Every Friday you can find street market nearby- extra affordable and fresh fruits available there (well if you dont travel on Friday- you can settle with supermarket)
What to pack

PHONE SUPPLIES

In Greece we use normal EU electricity plugs- if you do not have any extra for travel- you are recommended to buy them already in your country. At airport the prices are high, and local phone shops are closed on Sundays. TELEPHONE CARD - are also available in shops at Acropolis area and Syntagma area. You will need to present photo ID to purchase one. Ask the shop clerk to assist you in order to set up your new phone number.
