Really nice relaxed place for a beer. Also serve snacks and a great cheese board. Stu and I love it here. You can sit outside when the weather's nice which is great.

Really good traditional pub. Good pub grub too. Looks out onto Chorlton Green which give it a nice village-y feel. You could forget you're in a city at all!

Our nearest cinema but not v easy to get to if you're not driving. By public transport we'd recommend going into the city to the Cornerhouse (arthouse/indie) or the Odeon Printworks (blockbusters)

Awesome arthouse cinema. Also has exhibitions and a great (but fiendishly difficult) movie quiz. Plus a restaurant with pretty good pizzas.

Gorgeous but reasonably pricey restaurant house in an stunning old building that (I think) was a bank or financial exchange. We go here for special occasions and can't fault it.

Incredible Chinese restaurant. Expensive compared with your average Chinese place but delicious. That said we've heard some good things about some of the places in Chinatown - ask us for details.
