Getting around
Have own/rented vehicle.
No public transport and walking to the beach is in full sun and uphill on the way back. Humidity is very high in summer. Do not carry heavy bags.
Book before you go
Most guided tours should be booked the day before 5pm
Check out the weather first. Book and pay. Most tours need to be booked previous day to allow for catering if so. Be at pickup at least 10 minutes before departure.
What to pack
Pack a -take-along bag.
No valuables.
Water. Sun protection cream and hat/shirt.
Light weight jacket or sweater. Although sun is shining the coast wind can be cold and also on the ferry boats. Comfortable shoes for sand and forest.
Insect repellent. Yes even on walks.
Travelling with kids
Kids under 12
No deep sea trips (whale watching - fishing) and horse rides under 8 years. Check distances. Too much aircon inside vehicles not healthy as very humid outside. Mission Rocks has sharp rocks. Sun protection and dehydration. First Aid for blue bottle stings when at the beach.
