Amerigo is more of a bistro/restaurant, however, I put them in the grocery category as they also have a takeout counter where you can buy fresh pasta and sauces. The perfect place to pick up dinner when in a pinch. Their pasta, sausages and sauces are excellent.

Parks & Nature

I mention Girouard park as it has a little bit of everything for everyone. Jungle gym for the kids. Baseball diamond. Grassy spots for a perfect picnic. This is also where the neighborhoods largest and most popular dog park is located.

Trenholme has a smaller and quieter dog park than Girouard park. It is sometimes preferred for that very reason.

Sightseeing

This observatory provides one of the most iconic views of the entire city. It is the easiest to access as you can simply drive up to it and park your car (if it isn't too busy). You can also access the rest of the Mont-Royal park from here, although parking time is most likely limited.

Mount Royal is a must for first time visitors to Montreal. The park itself is large enough for a full day of walking and great for a picnic. Once at the top, it provides the best view of the entire city. It's a amazing green space located in the heart of the city.
