Arts & Culture

This is my favorite 'below the radar' museum in LA - it's a museum of oddities and cool objects that's hard to really explain. Think a display of miniature paintings next to an exhibit on how bats use sonar.

Parks & Nature

Famous because the land was once owned by Will Rogers - his original home is still there. Parking can be pricey, but there's street parking a few blocks before the main gate for free. For an easy to moderate hike, take the Inspiration Point loop trail with incredible ocean + full city views at the top! There's also fields and picnic tables for lunch, as well as more difficult trails (look up 'Backbone Trail' if that interests you). You may see wild deer, and definitely horses - it's still a working corral.
