Drinks & Nightlife

Arguably the nicest bar in Belfast. Outdoor seating near the water with a big crazy fire pit and bocce in summer as well as a nice atmosphere indoors. Go here for cocktails or try their many varieties of home brew. A word of caution: Their beer is strong. Food is also served, though it’s not their strong point. Live music occasionally http://www.3tides.com/

Sightseeing

This bridge built in 1921 as a war memorial linked workers on Belfast’s east side to the sardine and boat building operations on the opposite bank. The bridge offers fantastic views of the harbor. A boardwalk on the opposite side connects to downtown and to the rail trail. Belfast continues to have a working waterfront. Check out some beautiful boats at Front Street shipyard along the way.

The Little River Community Trail starts from the parking lot beyond the Water District Buildings. The trail goes through some nice stands of pine and along the scenic Belfast Reservoir. The section of the trail from here to the Perkins Rd is only about a mile. It’s maintained, but may have wet spots or roots in the trail.
