Waiheke Island

We have beautiful wineries on Waiheke island. A few names to look up would be (in order of preference) Tantalus Estate, Casita Miro, Mudbrick, Stoneyridge. Waiheke can be done as a day trip if you take the ferry over early enough and have a long lunch there. There are some amazing beaches to spend some time on before taking the ferry back. (We also have a train station a 10 min walk away which will take you to Britomart/downtown - which is where you take the ferry from)

If you are renting a car - take a trip over to Titirangi. There’s a gallery there (Te Uru) with a few eateries around. You can also pay a visit to French Bay if you’re in the area. - If you want to keep going out west, we have Piha beach (black sand & dramatic surf) as well as Bethells Beach (particularly Lake Wainamu & it’s sand dunes - worth googling)
