One of the longest ski "lifts" in Norway. Great off piste skiing. Free lift for the childrens' slope. Also cross country tracks. Good place to try alpine skiing.

Sightseeing

What 50 % of tourists come to see: the glacier. Easiest to see in summer. Spring–summer they offer guided walks on it. And December–April guided hikes inside the ice grotto!

Very romantic little village, where in season you can also buy fresh strawberries and raspberries. If you get tired of staying with me I'd recommend a BnB here.

The oldest stave church in Norway. As they're made of wood, it is really impressive that these buildings have lasted almost 700 years. Great location!

If I were to recommend an hotel in this area, it would be this. Really old building, great service, and great (pricey) food. You can dine there in the evening, but booking is mandatory.

Ok, pizza restaurant, and ok general restaurant (usually the fish is good). These are the only restaurants I recommend in Sogndal. But you can also try the Malin restaurants which are cheaper.
