A hidden local cafe which is opposite a beach which is mainly used by only by locals. You can spend some time this gorgeous beach then head across the road for a coffee or breakfast. A short walk south along the beach path takes you to the stairs leading up to the Miami/Burleigh North lookout. Well worthwhile the climb, beautiful scenic views North and South.

Natural Bridge is a short 50min drive into the hinterland. The beautiful waterfall is located along a lovely hiking trail which is family friendly and good for smaller children who want to experience nature but can't walk too far. The round trip is aprox 40minutes including a stop at the glow worm cave.

You will feel like you are a million miles away and will enjoy some great views on your way to the top. If you follow the path over the headland you will end up at the entrance to Tallebudgera Creek which has a lovely sandy beach. A beautiful nature walk suitable for the entire family.
Broadwater Parklands is great for a BBQ/picnic with open fields for ball sports and play equipment for the kids. The rockpools is a must in summer which is a little waterpark for smaller children containing shallow flowing water and novelty fountains. A beautiful place where you can spend the entire day.

The Brickworks centre is where I shop for fresh food. The space is home to a bakery, deli, butcher, Reef seafood and fruit and vegetable market with everything including a coffee shop under the one roof. A little on the pricey side but the quality is very high. Enjoy a Merlo coffee while you are there and pick up a bunch of gorgeous flowers from the beautiful florist. I highly recommend Brickworks to get away from your everyday supermarket.

If you have some adventurous members of your family then the wake park is a great 1/2 day out. You can hire everything so no need to bring anything (except a wetsuit if you feel the cold). There is a great little cafe onsite which you can grab some lunch at or just a great coffee. The teenagers in our family live at the wake park during the summer.
