This is the best place to go for FRESH Mexican food. The veggies are always perfectly cooked! It's casual but the atmosphere is lovely. There are white tablecloths and star lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The service is excellent and so are the margaritas! They have outdoor dining as well!

Parks & Nature

Mountain biking, hiking, waterfalls, fly fishing, Cradle of Forestry, Sliding Rock, Pisgah has it all! The mountain biking trails are epic and some are pretty technical. There are many different options for hiking. Some are easy while other trails are more challenging. The Pink Beds Loop is not very technical and you can see a wide range of natural habitats while Looking Glass Rock Trail is pretty strenuous but offers an amazing view as does John Rock Trail. The exercise trail and Ecusta Trail meander along the Davidson River and are very relaxing and enjoyable.

The waterfalls of Dupont State forest are a must see! You can take a waterfall tour or just explore on your own. The trails are well marked and easy to navigate. Dupont also offers some beautiful mountain biking trails! Pick up a map at one of the local bike shops and enjoy some of the best trails this area has to offer. Save Ridgeline for last. Stunning 60' waterfall! One of the easiest to view as a roadside waterfall. Steps lead down to the falls for a close up view. You can venture onto the rocks in the stream below the falls and even do some wading and seem underneath the falling water when the water flow is lower. For photographs, the sun comes up over the waterfall in the morning. So afternoon lighting or a cloudy day is best and in the winter you can see beautiful ice formations.
