A german-inspired butchery and restaurant. Emphasis on local and seasonal dishes with a "sexy rustic" vibe. Great schnitzel, fish, bratwurst, and there's always an amazing vegetarian dish (like cauliflower steak).

Took home Richmond's "Restaurant of the Year" in 2016. Seasonal, local, artful dishes. "The Perfect Egg" is a must-try appetizer. Swanky, eclectic, local vibe.

If you need to pick up some beer or grocery items during your stay, this is the closest place. Not only that, but it's a great place to sit outside and have a beer or kombucha on tap. They've also got great salads, sandwiches, charcuterie, and good vibes. The chicken salad sandwich and TLT (tempeh lettuce tomato) are delicious. I always substitute billy bread.

This is the place to go for delicious muffins in the morning. It's also the best place for vegan/gluten bakery options that don't take vegan/gluten free. *Try the canelés because they're amazing (the small french mushroom-looking things with carmalized outside and custardy inside)

Some New Zealanders opened this place up and ever since there's been a line out the door. It's cool because you can grab something and eat in the Patrick Henry park next door ("Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death"). The pies always rotate, but some savory pie options include Mince and cheese, peach and pork barbecue, lamb and vegetable, chicken, along with some great vegan options. The sweet pies are also insane - you have to try the sour cream and blueberry pie and the banoffee pie.

This is a cool/hip american-made hardware store that also sells homemade sodas and coffee drinks. Definitely a cool spot to check out if you're into fun concepts, branding and design. My favorite is the creamed soda (made right in front of you) and orange dreamsicle soda (a mix of milk, vanilla, and orange soda) If you're into coffee, try the Coffee Egg Cream (cold brew coffee, milk, and chocolate). It's awesome!!

Great little place to grab some take-out. They do pre-made dinners for two that you can just pop in the oven. They've also got a rotating menu of sandwiches. Same people who opened Dutch and Company.
