Excellent pan-American, sometimes Spanish food cooked with a fire oven and fire stove. Fat Hen, an attached restaurant next door serving new-Italian Pasta cuisine, is excellent too.

Yes, it's a chain. But, whether you've never had poké before or are a long time lover, this place will hit the spot.

It's your classic asian restaurant but a little less bad. The food is prepared fresh and properly and the prices are reasonable.

It's not exactly close, but if you're looking for a simply excellent restaurant, Toro is it (they also have a NYC location, so you know it's good). They don't take reservations, and they get packed up fairly quickly, so I recommend going just after they open (usually around 5, but check their website).

Upscale, for all you fancy folks. Excellent curation of wine, completely on-point sea-centric preparations, and subtly unsubtle Life Aquatic themed decor.

Owned by the same company as Bloc Cafe (or, Bloc 11), Diesel is similarly up-to-par, with a more retro, vintage theme.

Pretty close, but it might be best to take an Uber to and from. If you do want to walk, take Main St through Charlestown, it's much quieter and more pleasant than walking along Rutherford Ave.

Just a good ol' Stop & Shop. Walkable distance, but unless you have a good backpack you might want to drive or take an Uber when carrying those groceries back.

The absolute best kept secret in Boston. I've imbibed all over the world, in search for iconic and unknown drinking holes. This is one of the few that stacks up. File it under one of the best bars there are. Pro tip: ask about their daily "milk punch" concoction.

Dark woods, dim lights, fancy folks. It's a place that harkens back to the saloon style drinking holes of yesteryear, serving drinks that suit the term "they don't make em like they used to".
