Vacation rentals in San Donato-San Vitale, Bologna

I would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting Bologna. We stayed for 3 weeks and felt right at home from day one. The location is brilliant very walkable into the centre or to the local shops. It is very peaceful and you feel in a real community. The apartment likewise had everything you would need for longer stays and we felt upset to leave. Great host who is really responsive.

Almost everything was great, especially the kitchen and bathroom. Since Italy has stringent recycling and garbage disposal rules, it was unfortunate that the apartment did not have presort bins. Worse yet, the previous tenant lost the key card needed to dispose of miscellaneous waste (i.e. stuff that isn't simple paper, plastic, glass, or organic - which is more than one would think) so we needed to be rather creative about that. It would have been better had we been told about it ahead of time. The other oddity was that the dining table had only one chair, making it an awkward arrangement for two people. The kitchen counter had two stools but we needed that space for makeshift recycling bins. The apartment faces the courtyard which avoids all street noise but not air conditioning unit noise should you want to leave the window open. It's a 15 minute walk to the train station but 25 minutes to the old city center. However, bus service is plentiful. All in all, we would stay here again.

Alessandra & Ludovico have created something truly special. Their land, home, and way of welcoming guests radiate care and warmth. You can feel this place was built with love and vision. Their hospitality is unmatched. They picked us up from the station, lent toys for our little kid, and helped arrange excellent e-bikes. Exploring the green hills at our own pace was perfect. Every route was beautiful – full of spring scents and wildflowers. We rode nearly every path, but the view from the house was the most breathtaking. The house is spacious, minimalist yet cosy and stylish. Outside are several seating areas surrounded by birdsong. One clear night, we soaked in the hot tub under the stars. It’s inspiring to see what they’re building together. There’s space here, and a deep sense of welcome. A place that stays with you – where everything fits, and you find yourself wishing for just one more day. And then there’s Cheeta, the dog. Even if you’re not a dog person, you’ll miss her!

Silvia è un host di primo livello, gentilissima, professionale, cordiale.. l'alloggio è meraviglioso e assolutamente curato in ogni dettaglio. La zona dove si trova l'immobile è una delle più belle di Bologna, comoda , verde, silenziosa..mi sono trovata benissimo e spero di poter tornare prestissimo. grazie mille Silvia! Consigliatissimo!

Vittorio and Rosa Maria were the perfect hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. Vittorio provided great recommendations for restaurants and places to visit including a winery and cheese making factory. Also we had a fantastic meal cooked by Rosa Maria. It is a good base to visit other cities such as Modena and Parma (and others) by road or by train. The house was spacious, well equipped and felt like more like a family home with books, comfortable sofas a lovely sitting room and bedrooms. We very much enjoyed our stay and had a great holiday. Four of us stayed at Julia’s place for 3 nights. The apartment could not be in a better location to explore the city, it is located right in the center of the old city and on a narrow pedestrian street with restaurants/ cafe’s /food market etc. all major sites are within a short walking distance from the apartment. With the location comes the cost of noise. If you are a light sleeper, this may be a problem for you as noise from downstairs restaurants/ bars is very audible until late at night. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Master bedroom was spacious and comfortabke, second bedroom had 2 bunk beds which was ok for a 3 day stay. We had an easy self check in. The host was responsive. Overall great stay!
