Home away from home. Cozy, comfortable and convenient.
“Excellent last-minute lakeside stay! We enjoyed staying here and look forward to when we can return! A close drive to the comforts of home (Tim Hortons, McDs, Food Basics, chain restaurants) though not walkable. The lake however is walkable and we enjoyed the 5 minute jaunt down to the lake multiple times a day. If you have mobility issues, you'll be walking uphill, but the lake is an even quicker drive. We especially enjoyed using the on-site canoe, folding camp chairs (we forgot ours!), full cable TV (we're antenna folk back home), and the Little Free Library at the front of the retreat. Others have commented it is close to the highway and they are correct. If you are a light sleeper that might affect you, but we enjoyed being able to zip out whenever we needed a coffee or to get sundries. You have another unit next to you if you are staying in #4, The Suite. We stayed a few days so had two different sets of couples next to us. This retreat is excellent for couples - it felt cozy enough to be romantic, but communal enough where you wouldn't get lonely. I enjoyed the shared outdoor dining table as it gave us the opportunity to dine outside and meet the other guests. The unit is not completely soundproof from your neighbour, but I have a feeling you won't have any issues as this is NOT a party resort. This is a wine-and-dine while watching the sunset or walking the grounds resort. As for amenities inside the unit, your host Barb has thought of everything: can opener, salt and pepper, tinfoil, hair dryer, extra mattress topper, umbrella - even paper towels. I always pack these things as we travel on a regular basis, but they were not needed here! It truly was a wonderful laid back experience. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for something in the Orillia/Midland/Oro area. -Carleen LeBlanc - Travel Consultant at The Travel Agent Next Door”
The Loft on KING is located above our store, in beautiful downtown Midland. Walk to Georgian Bay, restaurants, shops, bike and walking trails. Tons of things to do and see, minutes from The Loft. A short drive to Awenda Park, amazing beaches, ski hills, snowmobile trails and more! The Loft was the original business owners' home and it has been beautifully restored and fully renovated. “10 Star!!!!! Had a girls weekend at The Loft and it was beyond expectations! From the soaps to the bedding, bathrooms to the stocked fridge with local homemade jams.... it was beyond expectation! I would suggest this to anyone looking to go away for a weekend or longer any time of year! It’s right on the main road in Midland, next to the water, easy parking and super easy to check-in! We’ll be back again soon!”

“A beautiful, quiet, secluded cabin. My boyfriend and I wanted a quiet mini getaway to relax and we got that at this cabin. It was such an amazing experience! - Tom is a superhost, he greeted us upon arrival and gave us a quick but informative tour. He also said goodbye when we left. He responded to our messages and answered any concerns that we had in a timely manner. - The place was very clean and organized! The amenities are top notch. Everything that we needed are provided specially kitchen tools and equipments. The bed was very comfortable. The decor was perfect. Our favourite spot was the deck. The view was amazing! The space was perfect for two people. Definitely felt like home away from home. We hope to be back in this cottage again! Thank you so much Tom!”
