Join me, the chef at one of Brazil’s top Afro-Brazilian restaurants, as we set off on a culinary journey. My dishes honor the tradition of the orixás—the spirits representing nature's forces in Candomblé, an Afro-Brazilian religion. • We’ll begin with a tribute to Oshun, the goddess of love and beauty, as sacred rhythms performed by an Ogã help set the tone for a warm, spiritual experience. • Next, we’ll enjoy a refreshing drink while we learn how Afro-Brazilian cuisine connects tradition, spirituality, and storytelling. • After our brief history lesson, I’ll guide you as we prepare a dish that harkens back to Candomblé tradition, using ingredients rich in history and symbolism. Along the way, I’ll share personal stories of family, faith, and African heritage. • Finally, we’ll sit down for a communal meal. You’ll leave with new recipes, a deeper connection to Afro-Brazilian culture, and plenty of memories to cherish.

Spend a day in La Pomponera, my fashion studio in Rio's Copacabana neighborhood, crafting a colorful Carioca bikini that celebrates your story. Upcycling is my design language, and together we'll transform ordinary materials into a vibrantly creative piece. • First, we'll dive into the creative process. You'll sketch your design, pick out fabrics, and add personalized details. • As we cut, stitch, and glue the bikini together, we'll talk about how to breathe new life into your wardrobe and make fashion your personal statement. • I'll help you make final adjustments so we bring your vision to life. You'll leave the studio with a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that captures your style as well as the essence of Rio's beach culture.

Taste Rio’s flavors with an artisanal ice cream maker

I’m excited to welcome you to Sorvetiño, my ice cream shop in the iconic Copacabana neighborhood, where I’ll be bringing back the distinct flavors of our “Love Letter to Rio” Collection for this experience. • We’ll begin with a blind taste test of four unique carioca ice cream flavors, each inspired by a classic beverage from the city: mate with lemon, guaravita, caipirinha, and passionfruit batida. • After taking your guesses for each sample, I’ll reveal the flavors, and we’ll enjoy shots of the original drinks that inspired the frozen treats. Guests under 18 can participate, and instead of the alcoholic flavors, they will receive an extra portion of the two non-alcoholic options. At the end of the experience, you’ll choose your favorite flavor to take home with you, along with a Sorvetiño sticker and poster.

A tale of Rio's urban history told through its rhythms

In this live DJ set and workshop, you’ll experience the evolution of Rio’s rhythms and explore how funk has bumped up against—and helped to shape—the city’s history. • We’ll get down to some of the most iconic beats from Rio’s rich musical heritage. • We’ll listen for diasporic rhythms and how they combine with other elements of the music to help tell the city’s story. • We’ll learn how Black musicians and music lovers have responded to—and triumphed over—urban reforms and other efforts to silence them. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of Rio’s rhythms and the people who continue to shape them—and with an exclusive print that unlocks a playlist of the music you’ve heard. *The minimum number of participants for the workshop is four. If this number is not reached, the workshop will be rescheduled.

I’ll teach you the basics of samba and funk—the rhythms that are the heartbeat of this city. • Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or trying it for the first time, I’ll be right there to guide you, step by step, making sure you feel the freedom in every move. • After our class, we’ll take in the breathtaking views at Pedra do Arpoador or even dive into the ocean for a refreshing swim. It’s the perfect way to end our magical experience together. I can’t wait to share Rio’s rhythmic soul with you.

Get to know Rio main attractions

In this experience, we will pick you up from your home* and take you to get to know the most important points of the city. We will begin immediately by visiting Christ the Redeemer (ticket included), to avoid queues and take the best photos for your photos**; then the neighborhood of Santa Teresa, an artistic area with its exclusive tram and then the Selarón Staircase, one of Rio's most famous sights. From there we will go to the Metropolitan Cathedral, a unique building in downtown Rio. Afterwards, we visited Maracana Stadium from outside. We stop for lunch** * right after. After lunch we go to visit the Parque Lage. Parque Lage is a historic and cultural park located at the base of Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro. While it is an independent site with its own history and attractions, Parque Lage is part of the Tijuca National Park, a vast protected area that includes one of the world’s largest urban rainforests. At the end you have two options: we can take you back home or drop you off at Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf) (ticket not included), where you can take a cable car up to the top of this magnificent hill. *Pick up and drop off in some areas of Rio's south zone. Sunset Sailboat Tour in Rio de Janeiro

The tour starts at the middle of the afternoon at the pier in Urca near to Bar urca. We will sail by the Fortress of São João, Fortress Laje and Fortress Santa Cruz, and close to the Island of Boa Viagem in Niterói. There will be one stop point at Adão e Eva beach or Praia Vermelha, perfect for picture taking and if you are interested to swim! Then we will pass by the Museum of Contemporary Art and sail back with the amazing view of the sunset on the horizon. There are gorgeous views of Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer throughout the ride, as they are central to the scenery of Rio's coast. The tour finishes after the sunset to make the most of this amazing view of the city. Other things to note You must bring your camera, sunscreen, swimsuit and flip flops.

Sailing at sunset in Rio de Janeiro

We will meet at 2:45pm at the small pier of Urca beach to gather the group and board. The boarding is done with a support boat that will take you to the sailboat and sometimes it may be necessary to get your feet wet. I will be your host and hope you feel at home, everyone is welcome! Our experience begins in the urca. From there we will go to the beaches of Adam and Eva, in Niterói, we will make a stop for sea bathing and a snack will be served with tropical fruits, sandwiches, chocolates and caipirinhas. Throughout the tour we will have beers, soda, iced mate and water available to be shared. We will sail in the Bay of Guanabara, passing the fort São João, Fort Lage and Fort Santa Cruz, located at the entrance of Guanabara Bay, Adam and Eva Beach, Morro do Bat, Museum of Contemporary Art and Ilha da Boa Viagem, on the city side of Niterói, Flamengo Park and botafogo cove, returning to Urca. We will enjoy the sunset sailing, heading back to the landing point. Rio de Janeiro can be even more stunning experienced by the waters of Guanabara Bay, so get ready to get to know a different angle from the most beautiful landscapes in the city. The Best Carioca Surf Experience

We will surf on the beach that has the best surfing condition for your experience, skill and fitness level. Macumba Beach is usually a great option since its geography provides an excellent condition for surfing whether you are a beginner from zero experience, intermediate or even advanced level in the practice of the "sport of kings". Before or after the surfing session, we will discover a special place that may surprise you! Our experience can last 4 hours or more and will be divided between the displacement from the meeting point to the beach, equipment preparation, talk, warm up and surfing session. Then we will know some special place in the west side of the city (there are many). After that, we'll take a break to replenish our energy in a snack bar or restaurant that suits your taste. Certainly after this class you will be getting to know a little more about the sea, its currents, origin and formation of waves, surf history and surf culture in general. Note: the order of activities can be modified by doing the tour first and then surfing. Other remarks. Come rested, well fed and in a good mood. You can be a beginner, intermediate or advanced in the sport. Foodies about town

This delicious introduction to food and drinks from around Brazil is unlike any other. Over the course of 4-5 hours, we'll eat and drink our way across the most interesting parts of Rio that most visitors never get to see. We'll start in one of Rio's bustling street markets, where we'll taste exotic fruits and street food dishes. After that, we'll head to my favorite Brazilian-Portuguese restaurant in Lapa for a taste of old-school Brazil, where the waiters dress in white jackets, and serve the most delicious salt cod croquettes in town. From there, we'll wander into Centro, the oldest part of the city to visit a secret foodie hotspot, a hole-in-the-wall serving classic boteco snacks (think Brazilian tapas). We’ll then take a short ride to Flamengo, where we'll taste the uniquely delicious regional dishes, first from Northeastern Brazil and finally from the Amazon. IMPORTANT: There is a different meeting point each day of the week and the Airbnb app is not able to handle this, so we will give you detailed information on how to get to the meeting point in a message after you book. ALSO: We generally do NOT serve feijoada or the rodizio style churrasco (all you can eat barbecue). But we can help you find the very best of both!
