“Darryl and Deb exceeded our expectations. Darryl picked us up from the airport (even during a busy traffic time!) and then let us drop our things and took us straight to the grocery store. It was so nice to get settled in right away and to have them available for local questions. They were fantastic with our 8 year old and even remembered him asking about a view of the island- he took us to a great spot on our way back to the airport ☺️. I wondered if the reviews were too good to be true, but they followed through on everything written 🙌. The location was super convenient as it’s just steps from the beach, snorkeling and the beach bar/restaurant. The fish tacos at the beach bar are great too. You won’t regret this stay.”
Built elevated above the tropical landscape in a glorious oceanfront setting, VILLA EAST combines the finest in Caribbean style with an exquisite Balinese interior theme. This newly renovated private vacation home overlooking Pineapple Beach, St. John, and the British Virgin Islands, is surrounded by spectacular ocean vistas and cooled by constant trade winds. Free welcome drinks on arrival! If Villa East is booked, don't worry! I also have other villas that may be available.
“My fiancé and I and my two girls just returned from four nights at Villa East. We had a fantastic stay! The two things that made this a great place to rent were the view (fabulous!) and the host, Alan. Alan was very responsive and very helpful. I bothered him with a million questions prior to the trip and he always rapidly and thoroughly responded. I emailed him that we needed additional towels, and within an hour we had more towels. I let him know a beach chair broke, and he offered to reimburse us if we bought a new one. The place was small (for four, which I expected. Would be just fine for two), yet impeccably decorated. It had everything we needed, although we really only slept in it! The music from next door’s Margaritaville could get annoying, but it was always over by 10pm. I would not hesitate to rent from Alan again in the future. About our stay- a rental car was the way to go. But you don’t need the twice as expensive Jeep (especially because you can’t remove the tops). The beaches were all beautiful. Coki was fun, and the snorkeling amazing. Lindquist is a little bit of a secret, but even more beautiful. Next time I’d skip Megan’s Bay. We took the auto barge to St Johns and LOVED it. We’ve been to many islands/beaches, and Trunk Bay took our breath away. For being high season, all of the beaches were uncrowned. None of the restaurants/food thrilled us, but Alan’s recommendation for a nice seafood restaurant (Mim’s) in a nice setting was spot on. In summary, the beaches were beautiful, the room and view were great, and Alan was a fantastic host.”
"Dovelet " breezy ,quite ..with a wonderful view of Magen's bay ! Bright ,cheery and super comfortable ! Down a quite a fewsteps to get to this gem ! Fully screened in ! With a outdoor shower ! Lay back and relax and watch the activities of the bay . Sailboats , fishermen , pelicans , sea turtles. Wild parrots.
“The views from the place are indescribable & the photos really don’t do them justice. The place has all the necessities while feeling like you’re staying in the wilderness. Waking up to the scenery, the sound of the wildlife and the wind blowing in the trees is incomparable. The humming birds and iguanas are beautiful to watch while having your morning coffee on the patio. Magens Bay is a short five minute drive tops (and free of cost and most people before 8 AM). Renting a car is definitely the way to go for staying anywhere on the island. I took Selwyn’s recommendation on Paradise Rentals and they couldn’t have made it easier. They picked me up from the airport and met me back there upon departure. No hidden fees or issues and very reasonably priced. It makes beach hopping and car ferrying over to St. John extremely easy (which I highly suggest. The donkeys, deer and different beaches on St. John are worth a day trip.) It was an amazing and truly unique experience. I hope to be back soon and will definitely choose to stay here again. I couldn’t have found a more perfect home base for my week long solo adventure. Absolutely stunning place with a wonderful and helpful host.”
