Tastefully renovated stone romantic Villa, represents a true jewel of the original architecture of Istria. All rooms are different, with the old beams and vaulted wood and visible original stone. Famous Roman Dr. Pierri said at the beginning of the 19th century that there is no similar area, the underground carries with favorable energy, such as the area between Buzet and Pazin, where Villa Viera is located, In this area is a constant mingling of continental and Mediterranean climate.
“We had an absolutely amazing holiday, travelling as a family of four adults and two children of 3 and 8 for two weeks! Viera was there to greet us and gave us a lovely tea with home made jams and wine - just what we needed after a long journey, which was totally unexpected and a lovely touch which was much appreciated! The villa in a wonderful old stone building which has a double bedroom, a room with two sets of bunk beds (perfect for the little ones), an upstairs toilet/washroom, a downstairs toilet/washroom with a shower and a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area which had large fridge, freezer and dishwasher. It has one air conditioning unit upstairs which struggled a little due to the extreme heatwave we experienced during our 2 week stay. There is a separate annex which has two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom, both with aircon which worked perfectly, so plenty of space for everybody. There is a large outside eating area which we mostly ate at - I don't think we ever ate indoors! There is also an outside kitchen (with additional seating) with a coal BBQ and gas rings and a fridge. The pool was great - chest height for the most part with a slight gradient taking it down to neck height at the deepest end. Lovely and clean - its cleaned weekly on a Thursday. There is also a table tennis table (with bats and ball) and a small tree house for the little ones although ours didn't really play much as they preferred the pool! There is also a toilet next to the pool which was very handy! There is not much shade around the pool from late morning to late afternoon, so the umbrellas were very useful. We were concerned at the 3 year old not having much fun in the pool as there was no shallow area, but he just had his noodle to inflate him and had a great time (and got lots of experience and confidence in the pool) - we had trouble getting the children out of the pool all the time, they just wanted to stay in as it was heated to around 20 degrees so always pleasant. Its in a beautiful location with the most amazing views, perfect sunsets and even for the couple of storms we had which were amazing! It is out of the way in a tiny village up in the hills, so a car is an absolute essential. The nearest towns are Buzet (which has a large supermarket called Plodine) to the north which is about 20 minutes drive and Pazin about 30 mins drive to the south with both a Plodine supermarket and also Lidl. The west coast is around a 45 minute drive, we went to Porec which was beautiful. Lovely coastline with no built up hotel resorts etc, but very good amenities such as sunbeds (for hire), boat hire, inflatable water course, jet skis etc - but done in a lovely way that didn't feel over the top, and the food prices were reasonable! The temperatures were around 27-30 degrees mostly, and we did have a couple of storms although they were later in the day and didn't affect us too much. One was particularly bad and we lost power for about 4 hours (the whole village did). We did had a heatwave for about 4 days where it was 37 degrees in the shade, but we headed to the coast on those days where it was a little cooler, and the aircon in the rooms also helped a little. A visit to Motovun is an absolute must - its about a half hour drive, north west! Advise you go early and get the shuttle bus to the top which costs around £3 return! The most amazing history and views - drink/lunch/dinner on the terrace is an absolute must! We did come across a couple of scorpions during our stay, but they were safely collected and sent on their merry way. Having been pre-warned they might appear and that their bite isn't serious, it wasn't a shock! Overall it was an absolutely amazing holiday with much to see and do, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this beautiful Villa or Croatia and we will certainly be back! Big thanks again to Viera and her husband for their help during our stay and their lovely welcome and departure!”
Medieval Old city of Buzet lies on a hilltop above a fertile valley of the longest Istrian river Mirna which is visible from the large Skadanjs' terrace. Skadanj is situated in a small village Krbavčići near the mountainous plateau Ćićarija. Previously, Skadanj was an old threshing barn that has been built by our grandparents, located at the end of the village and surrounded by the green area. In 2017 it was renovated. Outside the house is a beautiful swimming pool with the wooden sun deck.
“The vacation in Viviana's holiday home was fantastic - just perfect! We were received very kindly by Viviana. The further communication was quick, uncomplicated and friendly. The house with pool is tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Nothing was missing (including washing machine, grill, well-equipped kitchen - just everything on site!). The house was very, very clean (this is particularly important to me as a mom with a small child!). The nearest well-stocked supermarket can be reached quickly in a few minutes by car. The house is located on the mountain of a small Croatian village right on the border with Slovenia. A lot of nature - a lot of rest - a lot of relaxation. Viviana had already prepared a folder with tips for trips. We didn't use them at all, because house, pool, relaxation and family time were our focus during this vacation. It was a perfect vacation for us! We recovered very well and enjoyed the time. We will definitely be guests of Viviana again!”
Romantic escape in villa Drobežija. The village of Drobežija is a tiny village with three houses, one of which in ruins, that is located between Sovinjsko Polje and Krti. The terrace and the pool of the villa gives on a wonderful panorama of istrian hinterland and on the Butoniga lake. All the house, the garden and the pool is rented privately, there will never be other guests at the proprety.
“Just wow! The views from Mario's place were breath-taking. Sitting atop a mountain you can see all the way to the bottom of the valley. We were above the clouds which made for some amazing early morning pictures. Plus, we were there for a harvest full moon which was a sight to see. The house is rustic, but with modern amenities, including wifi, washer, air conditioning and tv. And there's the pool!! The pool was a godsend during the July heatwave. The home is ideally situated to make day trips to other areas of Croatia within a few hours.”
