Quiet, cozy cottage across from main house, country setting.
“A cozy cabin, directly near the hosts, who are truly super hosts! Coming to town we got stuck in the snow! And Eugene was kind enough to help us make it down the rest of the road. Additionally was thoughtful and offered us ideas about what to do in the area. It’s about 7 minutes from Liberty Mountain Resort. We actually went snow tubing which was grand. Additionally there’s a nice pub called Otts down the way. The cabin had all the perfect amenities to be snowed in! Checkers, a tv, and lots of cozy blankets. They even provided coffee basics, and popcorn! We can’t wait to come back again next year.”
This cute little house has so much character. It’s perfect for a getaway, or a quick place to stay on your way to neighboring cities like D.C. or Baltimore! It’s also conveniently right downtown so you’re in the center of all the action. Look forward to seeing you soon.
“The room and the common space were very neat, and we felt very much at home. We found the mattress a little too soft for our taste. Mischka was not around but was very quick to respond when we arrived late in the evening. There is easy parking on street or behind the house.”
Firefly Cottage is a unique 1850s stone schoolhouse converted to a cozy getaway on a large wooded lot. This one-of-a-kind property is located a short drive from wineries and 25 minutes from vibrant Frederick, MD with its shops, festivals and dining options. Handsomely decorated, you will never want to leave! Stay in the early summer to see the abundant fireflies!
“Even driving up the driveway, the firefly looks like a magical cottage. This has been my favorite Air B&B so far and I hope to return! It was welcoming, clean, beautiful and truly magical! I loved the vinyl record player and the fireplace! We cooked a meal and felt at home and cozy. The beds were both incredibly comfortable! There were so many amenities and plenty of toiletries. You can tell the hosts take pride in ownership and every decorative detail is filled with love! It was the perfect place to relax after a long day of hiking at the nearby Catoctin State Park and Cunningham falls State Park park. The host was organized and quick with responses. There were extra little touches that were so thoughtful like the welcome sign with my name on it, the hand-written letter and the bottle of wine left for us. This place was perfect.”
