“Luengten and Chief's Little Village homestay offers a "home away from home" experience. The hosts are extremely friendly and hospitable and are always ready to make your stay a memorable one. The homestay itself is very beautiful, well maintained, secluded and tucked in a corner in the mountain top with amazing views. Luengten's delicacies for dinner and breakfast were something we would look forward to each day. Overall a perfect place to stay, enjoy , relax and unwind in perfect mountain settings and everything that Bhutan has to offer its guests. We would recommend everyone looking forward to enjoy Bhutan in its most beautiful and traditional form, to visit and stay at this homestay”
The house is ideally located in one of the best neighbourhoods in Thimphu. The main Thimphu town is just 5 minutes drive away. The takin zoo(Bhutan's National Animal) is about 10 mins walk and there is a beautiful trail for walk towards SangayGang(BBS Tower) where the whole Thimphu city can be seen. All other attractions like the Buddha Point, TashiChoeDzong, Thimphu Main Town, Changangkha Lhakhang(Monastery), Phajoding Trek, etc are all within close vicinity. It is just your home away home.
“Tandi's apartment was clean with full on mordern amenities and fully equipped kitchen and perfect for families . It's a four bedroom apartment with a living room and a kitchen which would be shared by all the guests . Tandi is super informative and will provide you with excellent tips about Timphu n rest of Bhutan . The place is a bit far from town and if you have your own car it would not bother you as it's in a very nice neighborhood . Tandi was helpful in many ways and I was happy to have interacted with him . Overall a warm butanese experience !”
Tucked away in the village of Jawana (which means the village beneath the cliff), about 20 min drive through a farm road from the main road near Punakha Dzong is a Bhutanese treasure called Aum Wangmo Homestay. The 5-acre farm has been in Aum Wangmo’s family for about 200 years, since her great-great-grandfather’s time. Well maintained, the farmhouse has been repaired, extended and renovated to house two modern toilets/bathrooms and five rooms to accommodate 10 tourists comfortably.
“This is one of the best stays so far. The location is amazing amid hills, orchards, step farming, stream, chirping of birds... basically we were at the nature's lap. However, the best thing about the place is aunty aka Aum. She made us fall in love with Bhutanese food...buckwheat pan cake, ema datshi, shakam datshi to name a few. Besides, Aum's son Tenzing was extremely helpful and accommodative to our needs. We enjoyed our hike around the homestay with Aum's daughter Rigcel. In all, staying in that homestay felt like we were home during a vacation wherein our mom pampered us with loads of food laced with love and a warm smile. May God bless this beautiful family!!”
