Fans of ramen swear by Sanpoutei’s shoyu ramen ($14), and its rich umami-packed vegetable, chicken and pork bone broth. But if the spice seeker in you wants sizzling-not-soothing, opt instead for the rich tori x spicy-miso ramen.

If you fancy a warm and delicious bowl of Japanese comfort food, Sanpoutei has it for you. Good selection& carefully crafted Chasu and homemade noodles. Also have a joint at Shaw Centre, Orchard rd

This Niigata ramen restaurant has something a little different to offer: it uses fish stock as its soup base, rather than the usual blend of tonkotsu (pork bone) and shoyu bases.

One of the best places to eat tonkotsu (bone broth) ramen in Singapore. Can be packed during lunch hours.

Mexican Restaurant
“Take a walk down Lorong Mambong, and you’ll quite literally run the gamut of culinary styles. El Patio is a rustic, homely eatery that offers fuss free and reasonably priced Mexican food. If you’re seated outdoors and the heat gets a little too much for you, cool off with a coronas or a couple of margaritas. El Patio also wins points for the free-flow nachos that go with drinks.”

“Good Mexican food isn’t easy to find, so we think it’s a little unfair that Holland Village gets two great Mexican joints right on the same lane! Like El Patio, Cha Cha Cha dishes out authentic Mexican food like burritos ($16), enchiladas ($14) and culaican ($26) – a dish of cheese stuffed King prawn wrapped in bacon and served with Mexican rice and sour cream.”

Ice Cream Shop
“It has the best ice cream in Singapore, with exotic local flavours like Sea Salt Gula Melaka Ice Cream which is basically our local version of salted caramel (but better!). It is also a pretty little spot that locals love. ”

“Who needs posh when you’ve got good German nosh like pork knuckles and curry-wurst? The former comes tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. Proof that pub grub doesn’t always mean cheap fried frozen food. Of course, like any self-respecting Germanic pub, Baden offers a variety of classic German brews like Erdinger Weissbier.”

“Set up by two fashion-loving best friends, this humble little local shop tucked in a quiet corner of the hip Tiong Bahru estate offers charming little trinkets and edgy, up-to-date fashion pieces for the ladies. Look out for fab local labels Aijek and Yumumu. ”
